Why this product was recalled
could cause the combination meter in the instrument cluster not to display when the vehicle is started. As a result, the turn signals and hazard lights may not work. Additionally, you may not be able to see certain information about the vehicle, including warning lights, malfunction tell-tales and seat belt reminders. Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 7-inch display. Safety Risk: Turn signals that don't work may cause a person not to recognize when the driver intends to turn or change lanes and could increase the risk of a crash. Warnings, tell-tales and gauges that don't display could also increase the risk of a crash. A seat belt warning that doesn't work may not remind you to buckle your seat belt. Not wearing your seat belt can increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Toyota will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the combination meter software.
