Privacy Policy
RecallGuard uses the minimum information needed to search official recall records and deliver browser recall notifications.
Product searches
A product or identifier entered in the recall checker is processed to return matching official recall records. RecallGuard does not write search terms to its Firestore database. Short-lived technical rate-limit data is kept only in function memory.
Recall alerts
When you create a browser alert, RecallGuard stores the watch text and type, a Firebase installation identifier used to address the notification, the permitted site origin, and delivery status metadata. A copy of your active watch is also stored in your browser’s local storage so that you can remove it.
Active watches expire after 365 days unless you create or renew them. A watch you remove is disabled immediately and scheduled for deletion within 30 days. Notification delivery records expire after 90 days. Automated cleanup runs every day.
Analytics, app protection, and service providers
RecallGuard uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand visits, page views, traffic sources, approximate location, and device or browser categories. This helps us measure and improve the website. Google Analytics may set or access analytics identifiers in your browser and process usage and network information.
RecallGuard uses Firebase App Check with reCAPTCHA Enterprise to distinguish requests from the genuine website and reduce automated abuse. Google may process device, browser, network, and risk signals for this purpose. Firebase Hosting, Cloud Functions, Firestore, Firebase Cloud Messaging, and Google Analytics for Firebase provide the website, recall index, notifications, and usage measurement.
Your choices
You can use recall search without creating an alert. Browser notifications require permission. Use “Remove this alert” or “Stop watching” in the same browser to disable a watch, and use your browser settings to revoke notification permission or clear local data.
